We routinely ship our kittens only in the continental United States and Canada.  During the spring and fall, we use Delta Airlines for shipping because we have found them to be extremely reliable in the care of the kittens and in making sure the kittens make proper connections when they change flights.  The fee for shipping is approximately $240.  The buyer of the kitten assumes all shipping costs.  The kitten will be shipped collect, with the buyer paying for the shipping upon the kitten's arrival.

If the temperature is above 85 degrees Farenheight or below 35 degrees Farenheight during the day of shipment in Greensboro, NC (home airport), in the destination city, and any airport where the kitten changes flights, Delta will not accept cats for shipment.

If Delta is not available, then we ship Northwest or Continental.  The shipping cost for each of these airlines is $250.

Most shipments can be made from Greensboro, NC.  However, if temperatures are extremely warm in the summer, then Continental must be used.  We almost always have to go to Raleigh, NC to ship on Continental.  Since the Raleigh airport is 100 miles from our house and the drive conflicts with my work schedule, shipments on Continental can only be done on a Saturday.  We charge an extra $50 to ship from the Raleigh airport unless you are purchasing more than one cat.

Timberline Cattery provides airline-approved kennels for shipping at no charge to the buyer of the kitten.  Also, within ten days of shipping, Timberline Cattery has the kitten checked by a veterinarian.  A copy of the health certificate issued by the vet will accompany the kitten in flight.

Timberline kittens are given appropriate vaccinations prior to shipping.  This includes FVRCP, FeLV, and Rabies (if age permits).

It is the responsibility of the buyer of the kitten to provide Timberline Cattery with the name of the closest airport which is served by one of these airlines and which accepts the delivery of live animals.  Airline flight times and patterns are subject to change by the airlines, and Timberline Cattery accepts no responsibility for these changes.

If the cat is to be shipped Monday through Friday, it must be shipped on a very early morning flight from Greensboro.  If it can be shipped on Saturday, then we can be more flexible on flight times.  It is the buyer's responsibility to make sure transportation can be worked out  before purchasing the kitten.  We will not ship to any location which requires the boarding of the kitten overnight while the kitten is en route to the new location.

Due to the variable nature of the weather, Timberline Cattery can make no guarantees as to the exact shipping date of a kitten.  We routinely can ship on any date Monday through Friday on early morning flights, if the weather permits.   Saturday shipments can be made if planned well in advance.

If you have questions about  the logistics of shipping a kitten, please ask before placing a deposit on a kitten.  When we ship a kitten, it is the responsibility of the buyer to make sure we can ship the kitten based on the constraints listed above.  We do not refund deposits on kittens when the buyer discovers, after the deposit has been made, that it is not possible for Timberline Cattery to ship a cat to the buyer's desired location or if the buyer decides that he or she does not want the kitten after the kitten has been reserved.
